I woke up feeling better. Checked my blood pressure before I decided to do some light training, it was almost back to my usual 120/80…

Yesterday my systolic pressure was 140 and diastolic pressure was up to 117, no wonder I felt so bad. It never stops to amaze me how much the mind can influence the body. Interesting to note that some years ago 120/80 was considered ideal…

did 2min LC @2x16kg @10 rpm, 1 min @2x20kg @10 rpm, 1 min @2x24kg @10 rpm

finished off with swing @28kg x60 e.s, 50 hindu squats and a quick swing in the sea.

I went to a funeral today, and well, let’s say it’s affected me more than I thought it would.
I feel physically sick, and the mental side is not so cheerful. Hope the competition in London on Sunday will clear things up.

Active recovery day

Trail run x20min

Black LC (2Sw,1C, 1J,1OHSQ,1PP) @2x16kg x15min

I took it nice and easy tempo and 15min wasn’t as bad as expected! I think I will incorporate this approach in my training after the competitions in September. It gave me some metal fortitude if nothing else!

That’s the longest set I have trained in a very long time. I have done 20min snatch @16kg with 1 hand switch in 2010. And in April this year, I took the courage to do a set of LC @2x20kg for 12 min,   after reading Gregor Sobocan’s article on Functional Threshold Power

Good stuff!

Last hard training session, yes please! GSU Competition next Sunday in London.

LC @2x16kg x3 min @13rpm

swing @2x28kg x50, 1min rest, swing @2x24kg x50

1 arm row @24kg x12 e.s

Yesterday, I went for a 20min trail run

LC 2x24kg x3min @6rpm

LC 2x24kg x3min @7rpm

LC 2x24kg x3min @8rpm (total 18+21+25= 64 reps)

1 arm swing dropset @36,32,28kg e.s (x25,25,15 e.s)

1 arm row @36kg x5 e.s

Hindu B Squat x120

Hollow position is finally coming along as well!

LC @2x22kg x7min @8-9rpm (59 reps)

Today I felt like I could have done 8rpm for 9-10min, but decided to try a slightly overall faster tempo, only for 6-7min. Switching tempo on the minute was interesting and hard.

swing @2x28kg x35

swing @36kg x35 e.s

1 arm row dropset 12e.s (6@36kg +6@32kg)

1min on/1min off x13 sets

LC @2x24kg alternated with Jerk @2x24kg: 8,10,8,10,8,10,8,10,8,10,8,10, 10

didn’t feel like lifting 28s today, and now that I feel speed is coming back with 24s, not sure it is wise in the last few weeks before London.

Hindu squats x100

hollow position: felt also really good improvement today, but I never really bother timing it.
